Two Arrests for Retail Theft on the Same Day at Kohl's

Also, man steals the "pay it forward" jar from Egg Harbor.

Theft Arrests

Cherie Schaefer, 46, 21W549 North Ave., Lombard, was arrested and charged with retail theft after police said she took $172 worth of clothing from Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, at 3:03 p.m. Jan. 26. She was released on bond.

Barbara Hejna, 60, 407 A Flanagan Circle, Minooka, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she reportedly left Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, without paying for $38.85 worth of jewelry at 5:08 p.m. Jan. 26. She was released on bond.

Theft

A $300 gym bag and its contents were taken from a vehicle parked on the west side of a building on the 300 block of West Butterfield Road between 10:30 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. Jan. 25. The rear passenger window was broken.

A locked, 26-inch green and silver Schwinn mountain bike was taken from the bike rack at the Elmhurst Metra station, 128 W. First St., between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 25.

A $350 Polo goose down coat was taken from Sandburg Middle School, 345 E. St. Charles Road, during a school dance between 7 and 9 p.m. Jan. 25.

Someone removed the registration sticker off the rear license plate of a vehicle parked on the 700 block of North Emroy between noon Jan. 18 and 4:29 p.m. Jan. 25.

Someone stole the "pay it forward" jar from Egg Harbor, 140 N. Palmer Drive, at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 26. The offender also broke the toilet in the restaurant. He was intoxicated and later located at a hospital, police said. Charges are pending.
