Tuesday's Snow Storm Contributed to Fender Benders All Over Town

Elmhurst police were busy with fender-benders during the 6-inch-plus snowfall Tuesday afternoon, and a few accidents were reported even before the snow started. Here, from the Elmhurst police blotter, are the accidents reported on Tuesday.

• 11:25 a.m., Palmer Drive and East Schiller, vehicle versus vehicle
• 1:05 p.m., Walnut and Second, vehicle versus vehicle
• 1:12 p.m., York and Park Avenue, vehicle versus vehicle
• 2:16 p.m., Michigan and Lake Frontage Road, vehicle versus light pole
• 2:24 p.m., 200 block of North Oak Street, vehicle versus fence
• 3:30 p.m., Oaklawn and Armitage, vehicle versus vehicle
• 4:35 p.m., Spring and St. Charles Road, vehicle versus vehicle
• 4:45 p.m., Prospect and Butterfield, vehicle versus vehicle
• 4:50 p.m., 900 block of South York Road, vehicle versus vehicle
• 5:02 p.m., 600 block of South York Road, vehicle versus light pole
• 5:39 p.m., Madison and Euclid, vehicle versus stop sign and post
• 6:30 p.m., St. Charles and Route 83, vehicle versus vehicle
• 6:56 p.m., Interstate 290 and Route 83, vehicle in a ditch
• 6:50 p.m., Commonwealth and Butterfield, vehicle versus vehicle

According to the reports, none of these accidents resulted in injuries that required an ambulance call.

Plows tried to keep up with the heavy precipitation and after-school activities were canceled in town, but overall, it was a pretty average Chicago storm.

The storm has moved off to the east. The next chance for snow here is Monday, with a trend toward warmer temperatures—near 50 degrees over the weekend, according to weather.com.
