Top of the Blotter: Unreturned Rental Car and Christmas Light Scrooges

Theft
The service manager at a car dealership on West Lake Street reported that a female customer failed to bring back a car she rented while her vehicle was being repaired. The woman dropped off her vehicle on Nov. 16, but failed to return it on Dec. 6. The woman owes $2,255 for services, as well as additional charges for the repairs. The woman received a certified letter informing her of the situation.

Someone damaged two strings LED Christmas lights hung on bushes at a residence in the 900 block of South Kent between Dec. 10 and Dec. 12. The damage was estimated at $32.
Two strands of Christmas lights were cut between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19 at a home in the 200 block of South Hawthorne. The damage was estimated at $20.
