Someone took a red metal mailbox with Christmas lights and a letter to Santa on it from a home in the 400 block of Arlington between 10 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 18. The decorations were valued at $200.
A lighted Elmo wearing a green Christmas hat was reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Vallette between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 18. The decoration was valued at $60.

A woman who recently moved to Elmhurst from Des Plaines reported that her box of medication was missing sometime between Dec. 13 and Dec. 15, during move. She needed to file a police report in order to have the prescription drugs refilled.
A man reported someone used his debit and credit card to make several large transactions totaling nearly $4,200 during a five-hour span on Dec. 16. The man said his wallet was secured during the time in a locked locker at the YMCA. Police have no suspects.

A woman reported she lost her wallet after leaving her apartment in the 400 block of North York Road and going to the post office around 1 p.m. on Dec. 17. She said the wallet was attached to her wrist, but was gone when she looked for it at the post office. The wallet contained four credit cards and $100.
Someone used a credit card to make $124 in purchases after the card was left at a restaurant in November. The card’s owner reported the fraudulent purchases on Dec. 17.
A woman reported her wallet was missing around 2 a.m. on Dec. 18 after she was unable to find it while trying to pay for a cab fare. She hadn’t seen the wallet since paying a bar tab earlier in the night. The card was later canceled.
Police were called to the Jewel-Osco at 944 S. York Road on a report of two men stealing numerous bottle of liquor from the store between 8:45 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 18. The alcohol was valued at approximately $324. The men placed the bottles into a shopping cart and fled the store, police said.
