Top of the Blotter: Stolen Christmas Flamingo, Bad Checks Written

Theft

Someone took a lighted pink flamingo Christmas decoration from the front lawn of a home in the 700 block of South Berkley between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19. The flamingo was valued at $60.

A woman reported leaving her wallet on the counter of a store in the 100 block of West North Avenue around 10 p.m. on Dec. 20. The wallet was missing when she returned to the store. The wallet contained a drivers license, credit card, $50 cash and a key.

A resident in the 700 block of Adele reported on Dec. 20 that 49 checks from his account had been submitted for payment to “Chicago Furniture.” The account was closed. Police have no suspects.

Burglary

Someone took an Apple MacBook Pro from an office at Grace Bible Church during the afternoon of Dec. 20. The computer was valued at $1,500. Police have no suspects.

Alcohol in Public

William Jensen, 46, of the 400 block of Van Auken Street, was cited for possession of open alcohol in public after he was found lying behind a building in the 100 block of Industrial Drive around 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 20. He was released on an I-Bond.

Drugs

Brandon Spaccapaniccia, 26, of Naperville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, driving with a suspended license, no insurance and expired registration following a traffics top around 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 20 at Route 83 and Roosevelt Road. Spaccapaniccia was found to be in possession of heroin and taken to DuPage County Jail.
