Top of the Blotter: Damaged Signs, A Restaurant Surprise and 'Extra Income' That Gets Your Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Elmhurst Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Damage Spree Reported At City Parks

Officers on patrol early Monday found several signs damaged, according to police reports. Between 12:39 a.m. and 2:10 a.m., patrol officers reported signs broken or cracked at Pioneer Park, Berens Park, Marjorie Davis Park, the Jaycee Tot Lot and the Lizzandro Museum. In the reports, Police did not indicate how the signs were damaged other than to state some were "broken" or "cracked" in half. Police have no suspects.

Indecent Exposure
A woman and three children reported seeing an unknown male fondling himself in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 600 block of North Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 1. He reportedly fled when a woman exited the restaurant.

Drug Arrest
Vespucci D. Cole, 40, of West Memphis, Ark., was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver after being arrested around 8 p.m. on July 29 at the Waverton Hotel, 624 N. York Road. Police were in the area when someone notified them that Cole was selling marijuana from a hotel room. Police said Cole had several grams of marijuana, as well as another ounce of the drug divided into half-gram plastic baggies, drug-related items and $785 cash. He told police, according to the report, that he sold marijuana for the "extra income."
