Someone stole the tip box from an Elmhurst car wash.
A police officer was sent to My Car Wash on Spring Road about 5 p.m. Tuesday to investigate the theft.
"An unknown offender entered the business and removed a tip box that contained approximate $100," police said.
Police said the thief is a thin man, about 5-foot-9, and was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He was driving a Volkswagen Beetle.
