Telephone Tough Guy Threatens to Kill Dogs in Elmhurst

An Elmhurst man took about 10 telephone calls from somebody threatening to kill his dogs.

The man informed the police about the telephone tough guy about 9 p.m. Friday, telling them "he received approximately 10 phone calls from an unknown male caller who stated he needs to shut his dogs up or he would kill the dogs," police said.

The man "thought it might be the new neighbor so (an officer) spoke with the neighbor who denied making the calls and stated he had no problem with the neighbor's dogs," police said. "A phone number search revealed the phone to be disconnected. (The officer) advised the victim to contact his carrier to see if they could track down the ... number the call was coming from."
