Suspicious Person at Park Draws Dad's Attention, Road Rage Incident Involves Pruning Sheers

Also, police report public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Suspicious Circumstances

A man playing with his daughter at Pioneer Park, at the Illinois Prairie Path and Canadian National Railroad Tracks, told police he saw an older man with gray hair watching the park from inside a silver Dodge Sprinter between 3:45 and 4 p.m. May 22. When the witness approached the man, he said he thought he saw him putting his pants back on, police said. Neither the suspect nor the vehicle had been located at the time of the report, but police do have a license plate number.

Road Rage

David J. Slopecki, 57, 2750 Maple St., Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and assault after an alleged road rage incident at 4:35 p.m. May 23. The victim told police Slopecki exited his vehicle at Grand Avenue and Church Road, wielding a pair of pruning sheers and yelling at him. Slopecki allegedly kicked the drivers door, causing a large dent, police said. He left the scene and the victim followed him to the River Forest Country Club, 15W468 Grand Ave. Both drivers waited there for police. Slopecki was released on bond.

Possession of Alcohol in Public

Elizabeth H. Levandowski, 73, 12224 Quail Ridge Drive, Huntley, was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol in public and public intoxication after police received a report of an "intoxicated subject" at the front of McDonald's, 920 N. York Road, at 8:03 a.m. May 22. Police said a bottle of vodka was found in her parked vehicle. She was released on bond.

At 10:27 p.m. May 22, police issued a no-trespass order to a man who police say has been a chronic problem for the staff at Buffalo Wild Wings, 149 N. York. Police said the man refused to leave the location after having been asked previously not to return to the restaurant. He returned and became loud and rude, police said. 

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Jacqueline M. Hall, 25, 231 E. Fremont Apt. 101, and Katelyn M. Dignin, 21, 16952 S. Gaynelle, Tinley Park, were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after a neighbor reported to police a strong odor of cannabis coming from inside the building at 5:31 p.m. May 22. They were released on bond at the scene.
