'Suspicious' Man Tries to Get Girls Inside His Rusty White Car, Says Elmhurst Police

The man was last seen heading east on Butterfield Road from York Street.

A balding man with a mustache tried to lure an unspecified number of girls into his rusty white car, the Elmhurst police said.

"The girls were walking home from Bryan Middle School" about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and were near the Redbox outside the South York Street Jewel "when they heard a male ask them if they wanted a ride," police said.

"They asked him 'What?' and he repeated, 'Do you girls want a ride?'" police said.

The girls "ignored him, walked to Sydney Nail salon, and called a parent from there to pick them up," police said. "The girls advised the car was last seen heading (east) on Butterfield from York."

The car is an older model, rusty white four-door, said police, who described the man as Hispanic, "maybe 40," with black, medium-length, straight, thinning hair and a mustache.
