State Charges of Possession of Cocaine, Drunken Driving Earn Chicago Man Trip to Jail

Earl Gist, 55, of 2427 W. Lindale, Chicago, was arrested and charged under state charges with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of alcohol at 2:57 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Police reportedly found him sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle at Route 83 and North Avenue. Police said he had two baggies of cocaine and two ecstasy pills in his possession.

He also was charged with improper parking on the roadway. He was taken to DuPage County Jail on $2,000 bond. His next court date is March 4, according to the DuPage County Clerk's Office.
