Several People Arrested for Heroin in Elmhurst
Four traffic stops net five arrests for possession of a controlled substance last week.
Matthew T. Rothblatt, 18, 360 Whirlaway, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police pulled over his black Toyota Highlander for speeding at Route 83 and Interstate 88 at 11:11 a.m. Nov. 13. Police said they found six bags of heroin in his possession. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
Ricardo Arsola-Mora, 30, 7430 Carmelia, Hanover Park, and Jose M. Carlos, 27, 405 Chace Terrace, Streamwood, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police pulled over a tan Buick for failure to signal at Route 83 and Interstate 290 at 12:05 p.m. Nov. 13. Police said they were in possession of heroin and Xanax. They were both taken to DuPage County Jail.
Danielle Barkzyk, 20, 6 LaCrosse Drive, Algonquin, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police pulled over her Chevrolet Cavalier for speeding at I-290 and Church at 1:50 p.m. Nov. 13. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Elmhurst police assisted Bellwood police in the arrest of Trenton Cwik, 21, 580 W. Roadrunner, Chandler, Ariz., for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police pulled over the red Ford he was riding in at I-294 and I-290 at 10:47 a.m. Nov. 13. Police said they found five baggies of heroin in the vehicle. The driver, John Smrz, 31, 2N025 Bernice Ave., Glen Ellyn, was arrested for driving with a revoked license. The vehicle was seized for forfeiture.
