The man said he can spend his money any way he wishes, police said.

An Elmhurst cop, a representative from a bank and a senior citizen's daughter all warned the older man about the dangers of playing a "foreign lottery," but he wants to get in the game anyway, police said.

A representative from MB Financial Bank alerted the law on Monday afternoon to a "fraud involving one of their customers," police said.

The customer reportedly withdrew an undisclosed amount of money from the bank and sent "it to a lottery located out of the country.

An Elmhurst officer, "the bank and (the man's) daughter all advised (him) of this possible scam and he stated he can spend his money as he wishes," police said. "He withdrew another large amount on today's date as well."

The DuPage County Sheriff's Department sent someone over to check on the man but he was not home, police said. Senior services was supposedly going to "conduct a follow up."
