Semi Truck and Portable Potty Set Ablaze

Woman reportedly yells for help at Citgo; no suspect found.

A night-shift worker for Optima Trucking, which shares the building at 736 Industrial Drive with Tower Truck Lines, reported that at 1 a.m. Sept. 27, he saw a cloud of smoke near the rear of the building. When he went outside, he saw a semi truck belonging to Tower Truck Lines was engulfed in flames. Elmhurst firefighters extinguished the blaze, but they were not able to determine its cause.

Someone started a portable toilet on fire at 10 p.m. Sept. 23 at Washington Park, Poplar and May streets.

Suspicious Circumstances

Police were dispatched to Citgo, 1035 S. York Road, for a domestic dispute at 2:26 p.m. Sept. 23. The complainant heard a man and a woman in a silver vehicle yelling and saw the woman attempting to exit the vehicle while she was yelling for help. The vehicle left the station at a high rate of speed and was last seen northbound on York Road. Police did not locate the car.

Possession of Cannabis/Disorderly Conduct

Lawrence E. Oshane, 22, 101 Grand Ave., Windsor, Conn., was arrested after an incident at Holiday Inn, 624 N. York Road, at 9:08 p.m. Sept. 27. Police said Oshane urinated in the parking lot. Police also found a bag of cannabis inside his vehicle. He was charged with disorderly conduct/public urination and possession of cannabis and released on bond.
