Seeing Red (& White): More Graffiti In Elmhurst, But At Least It's Not Silver!

The Elmhurst cops reported more words were written on things, and still won't say what those words are.

Elmhurst continues to be plagued by the scourge of graffiti.

And while the police have made no mention of progress in their battle with the Silver Scribbler, that particular vandal has been joined by possibly more defacers wielding red and white markers.

Some time Saturday evening, someone "used a red marker to draw (redacted) and the word (redacted) on their fence" in the 300 block of North Elm Avenue, police said.

The marker mayhem was perpetrated by someone driving a blue Infiniti G35x, police said.

Later that night into Saturday morning, someone "wrote with white marker on two green city-owned 'street lighting' boxes that are located immediately west of the complainant's driveway" in the 100 block of North Oak Street, police said.

"There was also marker on the sidewalk, not visible from the street," police said. "Written on the box was a (redacted) possibly (redacted) and under that graffiti was worn letters (redacted) and (redacted)."

And that's not all, police said.

"On the other box was (redacted) and (redacted) on the back side," police said.

Patch has requested the Elmhurst police reports detailing the secret graffiti.
