Red Light Ticket Leads to Arrest, Woman Shot in the Buttocks, Cigarette Packs Could Be Sign of a Stalker

Things that make you go, "Hmmm."

Filing a False Report

Zuzana Dudackova, 57, 2222 S. Stewart Ave. Apt. 4F, Lombard, was arrested and charged with filing a false police report at 11:37 a.m. Aug. 13. Police said Dudackova came into the police station to report her vehicle had received a red light violation, but that she was not driving the vehicle at the time because she was working at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. She reportedly told police someone must have taken her vehicle while she was at work, violated the traffic light and returned it a short time later. Police said surveillance video at Walmart, 900 S. Route 83, Villa Park, showed Dudackova entering the store around the time her vehicle was issued the red light violation. She was released on I-bond.

Stalking?

A woman at an undisclosed address told police she had been finding empty cigarette packs on her parkway since June 17, but at first she just dismissed it as littering. She told police that she now believes a former boyfriend may be responsible. She said she has had several chance encounters with him recently and believes he is following her.

Threatening Phone Calls

An employee at Metro Storage, 953 S. Route 83, told police that a man whose storage locker contents were being auctioned threatened to "blow up" the business at 12:50 p.m. Aug. 11. He later called and apologized for his threatening comments. The business declined to pursue criminal charges.

Definitely Not Cupid's Arrow

A woman told police that while she was unlocking the door to her home on the 600 block of Berkley at 8:31 p.m. Aug. 13, something like a BB or a pellet hit her in her buttocks. She saw two or three teen boys laughing in a blue Ford Escape. They fled southbound on Berkley to eastbound Madison. She said she intends to press charges if the suspects are caught.

Bank Investigation

A man told police that on Aug. 10 he visited the drive-through teller at Fifth Third Bank and attempted to cash a $200 personal check. He said he drove away without receiving his cash. He didn't inquire about it until Aug. 13 at 2:04 p.m., when he went back to Fifth Third. The bank is investigating the matter.
