That was only "some" of the woman's jewelry, police said.

An Elmhurst woman returned to her East Grantley Avenue home to find prowlers had scattered her "undergarments" about her closet and stolen thousands of dollars of her jewelry, police said.

A police officer went to the woman's home about 11:45 a.m. Friday. Once he arrived, the officer was told that when the woman "entered her bedroom, she noticed her undergarments were scattered in her closet and some of her jewelry was missing," police said.

The value of "some" of the woman's jewelry was about $6,000, police said.
