Prostitution, Cocaine, DUI Arrests Reported by Elmhurst Police

Prostitution Arrests

James Bastl, 55, 38 Gino Lane, Hawthorne Woods, and Katherine E. Mazur, 28, 4559 N. Kilbourn, Chicago, were arrested and charged with prostitution at an undisclosed location at 5:50 p.m. July 16. Police responded to an advertisement posted by Bastl on backpage.com seeking a male to engage in sexual acts with him and Mazur, police said. After several emails and phone calls Bastl and Mazur agreed to perform sexual acts in return for $350, police said. They were released on bond.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver at 410 W. Lake St. at 7:03 p.m. July 16. Police said he had 2.7 grams of cocaine. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

DUI Arrests

Robert Huerta Jr., 28, 3503 Lonnquist, Franklin Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of open alcohol and driving without insurance after police said they found him sleeping in his silver Acura TL, which was parked on the shoulder at Roosevelt and Commonwealth at 5 a.m. July 15. He was released on bond.

Anthony Vechiola, 29, 133 W. Washington, Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI after police s his white Lincoln Continental struck a curb at Spring and McKinley at 10:50 p.m. July 18. He was released on bond.

DUI-Drugs

Kevin Ganley, 21, 1N636 Fisher Lane, Winfield, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at an undisclosed location at 8:18 p.m. July 18. He was released on bond.

Disorderly Conduct

Robert Baldwin, 63, 641 George St., Bensenville, was cited for possession of open alcohol and public intoxication at Lake Street and Grand Avenue at 3:14 p.m. July 18. He was released on I-bond.

Kids With Air Guns

Police found four boys with red-tipped air soft rifles on the Prairie Path at Poplar and Seminole after they received a call for juveniles possibly shooting at birds at 3:59 p.m. July 16. The boys said they were unaware of the city ordinance prohibiting air soft guns. They were picked up by their parents and no charges were filed.

Warrant Arrests

Conesha D. McKinney, 26, 3224 E. Waukegan, Waukegan, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a larceny charge out of Lake County after police received a call for a suspicious person on the 200 block of Cottage Hill at 4:05 p.m. July 12. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Keith Bieszczat, 33, 515 N. Willow Road, Elmhurst, was arrested at his home on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of a controlled substance at 4:52 p.m. July 14. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Soliciting Without a Permit

Antonio Sargent, 25, 1807 N. 20th St., Omaha, Neb., was cited for soliciting without a permit on the 100 block of Grantley at 7:11 p.m. July 13. He was released on bond at the scene.
