Police Use Taser to Take Down Man with a Knife

Elmhurst resident faces assault, domestic battery charges.

A resident of Huntington Lane in Elmhurst was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery after he was seen wielding a knife on Friday.

An Elmhurst officer entered the home at 314 Huntington Lane at 7:08 a.m. Oct. 5 after he heard screaming and yelling from inside the residence, according to the police report. Once inside, he saw Luis Carrasco, 41, holding a knife and attempting to stab another person in the home. He also reportedly pushed another victim in the home.

The officer deployed his taser to subdue Carrasco who, according to the report, was "highly intoxicated."

He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
