Man Tased

Police said a combative offender had to be tased during an incident at 4:57 a.m. Dec. 31 at North Avenue and Interstate 290. Elmhurst police were assisting Illinois State Police when a male subject was resisting and "being combative" with state troopers, police said. Officers informed the suspect that if he continued to fight, he would be tased. He continued to act aggressively, so the officer "drive-stunned the subject in the upper right ham string." Police said the subject then became compliant and was taken into custody by state troopers. They did not release his name.
