Police Say Man Arrested in Elmhurst Had Multiple DUIs

Elmhurst police report weekend arrests for drunken driving.

Aggravated DUI

Alejandro Aguilar, 33, 1235 S. Austin Ave., Cicero, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving with a license revoked for DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over his tan Honda Odyssey for improper lane use at Interstate 290 and North Avenue at 2:20 a.m. March 24. He also was charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bond. His vehicle was towed for forfeiture.

DUI Arrests

Niesha Smith, 29, 7440 Tennessee Apt. 115, Willowbrook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without insurance after police pulled over her silver Buick Century for improper lane use at Roosevelt and Route 83 at 3:50 a.m. March 22. She was released on bond.

Stephen Kittler, 60, 228 E. Oak, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Chrysler PT for improper lane use at Spring and St. Charles at 2:11 a.m. March 23. He was released on bond.

Christopher D. La Bonte, 23, 1862 Somerset Drive Apt. 3B, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his silver Ford ZX2 for improper parking on the roadway on the 200 block of East North Avenue at 6:07 a.m. March 23. He was also found to have four valid warrants. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Ruth Garcia, 30, 680 Amber Lane Apt. 207, Carol Stream, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her white Nissan Altima for speeding and following too close at North Avenue and Route 83 at 3:42 a.m. March 24. She was released on bond.
