Elmhurst Police Report Naked Man on Elm, Arson Suspected in Dumpster Fire

Two people also arrested for DUI last week.

Man Found Naked in the Roadway

Elmhurst police received a call at 11:17 a.m. Sunday, July 28, for a man standing naked in the roadway on the 300 block of Elm Street. Police made contact with the man, who said God had told him to "show himself off." He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Elmhurst police are looking into who might have caused a fire in a dumpster at Field School, 295 N. Emroy, at 9:31 p.m. July 29. When police arrived, the dumpster was "fully engulfed in flames." Two boys on bicycles and one boy on a skateboard with "crazy hair" were seen in the area at the time of the fire, but they were not immediately found. Fire Department personnel later identified two kids matching the description. They denied any involvement.

Fire at Cue 'N Cushion

Elmhurst police and fire personnel responded to Cue 'N Cushion, 622 W. Lake St., for a structure fire at 2:35 p.m. July 30. Police said a light ballast in a rear storage room had overheated and caught fire.

DUI Arrests

Brendan Hubble, 25, 1024 Kufrin Way, Lombard, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled him over for disobeying a red light at York and Palmer at 1 a.m. July 25. He was released on I-bond.

Martin Mikolajczak, 30, 535 Falmouth Way, Roselle, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his blue Lexus IS 300 for speeding, failure to yield and improper lane use at York and Lake at 2:09 a.m. July 27. He was released on bond.
