Police Report Incidents Involving Drugs, Alcohol and Theft

Theft arrests involved alcohol and Dr. Scholl's.

Possession of Cannabis

Issac Nelson Hudson III, 33, 550 W. Grand Ave. #233, Elmhurst, and Billy Dwayne Pierce Jr., 29, 550 W. Grand Ave. #422, Elmhurst, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police responded to complaints that someone was smoking pot at Extended Stay of America, 550 W. Grand Ave., at 10:10 p.m. March 31. Three small bags of cannabis were found. They were released on bond.

Laith M. Al Rousan, 31, 8003 Ferguson, Dallas, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at Route 83 and North Avenue at 4:55 p.m. March 31. A glass smoking pipe was found under the driver’s seat. Al Rousan also was found to have a warrant for misuse of a credit card out of Will County. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Carmen L. Orbegoso, 19, 454 Whittier Ave., Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and disorderly conduct after police conducted a bar check at Charlie’s, 122 S. York Road, at 12:17 a.m. March 20. She allegedly provided a false date of birth. She was released on bond.

Several juveniles were cited under city ordinance for possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 6:21 p.m. March 25 at  Butterfield Park, 339 E. Butterfield Road. After receiving a call for minors drinking in the park, police located six juveniles leaving the park in possession of two bottles of Smirnoff and one bottle of Goldschlager schnapps. Arrested were three 14-year-old boys, two 14-year-old girls and a 13-year-old girl. They were released to their parents on I-bonds.

Myles G. Burton, 20, 126 Fellows Court Apt. G, was cited on city ordinance for consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of open alcohol in public at 2:59 a.m. March 27 after police saw him holding an open bottle of vodka in front of Doc Ryan’s, Eggleston and Spring Road.

Two girls, ages 15 and 16, were cited under city ordinance for underage drinking and violation of curfew after they were seen walking eastbound on Van Buren at Kirk at 1:04 a.m. March 29. They were released on I-bond and given a ride home.

A 17-year-old girl was charged with curfew violation and consumption of alcohol by a minor after the car she was riding in was pulled over for speeding at St. Charles and York roads at 1:10 a.m. March 31. The girl, who reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol, was released to her brother.

Theft Arrest

Rhiannon R. Fay, 18, 485 W. Alexander, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with retail theft, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at Dominick’s, 215 W. Route 83, at 4:36 p.m. March 31. Fay was seen leaving Dominick’s and meeting with another person. They walked behind Blockbuster, and Fay reached into her purse and handed an item to the other person. Fay reportedly admitted to stealing Dr. Scholl’s shoe insoles. She also was found to be in possession of cannabis and a smoking bowl. While she was being interviewed, Fay said her cousin had brought a TV to their house and stated he had stolen it from a garage. Officers went and picked up the TV and an alarm clock from the house and put them into evidence. Fay was released on I-bond.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with retail theft after an off-duty officer shopping at Jewel, 944 S. York Road, saw him attempt to conceal two bottles of vodka and a bottle of cranberry juice at 10:18 p.m. March 31.  He attempted to run when the officer identified himself, but was taken into custody. He was released on I-bond.

Theft

Someone took a Sony Erickson cell phone and a brown leather bi-fold wallet containing $25 from an unlocked locker at YMCA, 211 W. First St., between 8:30 and 9 p.m. March 29.

Identity Theft

A resident of the 500 block of South Spring Road reported fraudulent activity on his MasterCard between March 16 and 21. The charges, made in Indiana and Kentucky, totaled $1,196.

A resident of Elm Creek Lane reported someone purchased $60.65 worth of merchandise online from an international software company using her debit card on March 23.

Theft by Deception

The office manager at Lucky Motors, 817 N. Church St., said she received a fax on March 30 from the risk management department of Fifth-Third Bank about a fraudulent loan that was written Dec. 8 to purchase a 2005 Jaguar. The social security number provided on the loan documents reportedly belongs to someone else. Fifth-Third is demanding the money from the dealership.

Forgery

A customer sevice representative for MB Financial Bank, 990 N. York Road, said she received an inter-office e-mail from the branch manager about a non-customer who stole a customer’s drivers license and is using her account numbers to cash fictious checks. The suspects, described as two women in their 20s, reportedly cashed a check for $1,980. The incident was reported to police at 2:39 p.m. March 25.
