Dozens of Political Signs Stolen; 5th Ward Candidate Says He is the Victim

Fifth Ward Candidate Bob Kolb told police someone stole hundreds of dollars worth of his campaign signs.

About 38 political signs were stolen between March 11 and March 29, Elmhurst police reported.

The theft was reported at 3:14 p.m. March 29. The victim told police that all of the signs were posted on private property. Loss is estimated at $300.

Fifth Ward candidate Bob Kolb in his blog on Elmhurst Patch this week said he is the victim. He said the signs were taken from "my own front yard to Mack's Golden Pheasant. There are simply too many locations ... to list each."

The city didn't take them down, he said. And it probably isn't his opponent, 5th Ward incumbent Chris Healy, police reportedly told Kolb. So who did?

"More likely his over-zealous supporters," Kolb said he was told by police.
