Police Report Arrests for Drugs, DUI

Police report nine arrests for DUI and five arrests for drugs between Feb. 21 and 27.

Drug Arrests

Anna B. Garcia, 19, 143 E. Grove St., Lombard, was arrested for possession of cannabis and driving without a license after a traffic stop for driving on an unsafe tire at 1:22 a.m. Feb. 21 at York Road and North Avenue. She was released on bond. A passenger in the car, Michelle N. Rubio, 22, 307 Hirsch St., Northlake, was charged with possession of cannabis. She was released on bond.

Joneasha L. Snow, 26, 1401 S. Seventh Ave., Maywood, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, failure to yield at a stop intersection and excessive noise after a traffic stop at 7:26 p.m. Feb. 21 at Route 83 and North Avenue. While approaching the vehicle, officers saw Snow hiding something inside her pants. A K-9 search reportedly revealed a cannabis blunt and hydrocodone pills inside a sock. Also found in Snow’s pants was 7.8 grams of cannabis. She was released on I-bond.

Chadni A. Shah, 21, 9247 Fern Lane, Des Plaines, and Kiron C. Thomas, 22, 9428 N. Meadow Lane, Des Plaines, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave., at 10:31 p.m. Feb. 21. 

Mac A. Manning, 41, 648 S. York Road #311, Bensenville, and Harry L. Tiller, 32, 230 S. Villa Ave., Villa Park, were arrested on drug charges after an incident at Sears Essentials, 265 S. Route 83, at 5:04 p.m. Feb. 24. While on patrol in the Sears parking lot, officers reportedly saw Manning and Tiller make a drug transaction. Till was found to have 8 grams of suspect cannabis. Manning was found with 23 grams of cannabis and 2 grams of suspect heroin, police said. After they were taken to the police station, Manning gave verbal and written consent to a search of his residence, where police reportedly found about 76 grams of cannabis. He was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. He was taken to DuPage County Jail. Tiller was found to have a warrant out of DuPage County. He was charged with possession of cannabis and was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Anne T. Hallgren, 20, 130 N. Walnut, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 10:48 p.m. Feb. 25 at West Avenue and Second Street. She was released on bond.

DUI Arrests

Ruben D. Torres, 48, 830 Barnsdale Road, LaGrange Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police received a call for a possible intoxicated driver at 6:49 p.m. Feb. 22 at Sandburg Middle School, 345 E. St. Charles Road. Police found Torres inside the vehicle in the parking lot. He was released on bond.

Eric T. Hanson, 28, 1636 Buckingham Ave., Westchester, was arrested and charged with DUI, improper lane use and driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop at York and Hale streets at 1:37 a.m. Feb. 25. He was released on I-bond.

Saji Korah, 47, 562 W. Babcock, Elmhurst, was arrested after his vehicle hit a stop sign at Walnut Street and Lake (Frontage Road) at 4:57 p.m. Feb. 25. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital due to a high level of intoxication, police said. He was charged with DUI, damage to city property, driving off the road, improper lane use and driving without insurance.

Boris Zizek, 35, 108 Fellows Court Apt. E, was arrested and charged with DUI after a traffic stop at York and Church streets at 2:15 a.m. Feb. 26. He was released on bond.

Mario A. Capetillo, 45, 374 N. Oaklawn, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after a traffic stop for no headlights on northbound York at Park Street at 2:09 a.m. Feb. 26. He was released on bond.

Vanessa L. Vazquez, 19, 1046 S. York Road #2A, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI after a traffic stop for driving too fast for conditions on eastbound Harger Road at York at 3:07 a.m. Feb. 26. A passenger, Pedro F. Flores, 18, 354 E. North Ave., Elmhurst, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of alcohol by a minor. They were released on bond.

William G. Kralis, 40, 810 N. Van Auken, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI, disobeying a stop sign and driving without insurance after a traffic stop at North and Willow at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 26. A passenger, Michelle Dzierwa, 30, of the same address, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released on bond.

Jacquelyn D. Smith, 30, 4326 W. Iowa St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and improper lane use at 4:37 a.m. Feb. 27 at York and Meister Street. She was released on bond.

James R. Werderitch, 24, 217 W. Butterfield Road, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and disobeying a traffic control devise after a traffic stop at York and Second Street at 7:25 a.m. Feb. 27. He was released on I-bond.
