A security officer with Elmhurst Memorial Hospital told police a phone operator took a call from an man who blocked his phone number in order to remain anonymous at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 4.
The man was calling to pass along information he had overheard during a conversation involving a female employee of Elmhurst Memorial. The employee allegedly said she was upset and was planning to go and "shoot up her work place."
Elmhurst police passed the information along to the Harvey Police Department, which is following up on the case.
