Police Make Arrests for Heroin, and Irate Customer Throws Coffee at Dunkin Donuts Employee

Also, even with a license plate number, late-night crash with mailbox goes unsolved.

Possession of a Heroin

Igor Nikitin, 31, 4000 Baysie Drive, Palatine, and Vadim Iosim, 38, 4900 Foster Unit 402, Skokie, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 5:48 p.m. May 19. Police were on patrol in the area of 600 N. County Line Road when they saw the two sitting in a car. While speaking with the suspects, police saw a hypodermic needle in plain view. Also found inside the car and on Iosim were heroin capsules and two bags of heroin.

An employee of Dunkin Donuts, 506 W. North Ave., told police that an irate drive-through customer threw a cup of coffee at the employee at 5:30 p.m. May 18. The employee said the woman placed an order for coffee and a doughnut, but the store was out of the type of doughnut she wanted. She became very argumentative. When the victim handed her the water and coffee she ordered, the suspect threw the coffee and drove off. The victim was able to get a partial license plate number. The victim is about 30 years old with dark blonde hair, driving what could have been a Ford Taurus.

Someone driving a silver Ford Mustang hit landscape rocks and a mailbox on the 300 block of North Riverglen at 3:03 a.m. May 19, then fled the scene. A witness was able to get a license plate number, which was returned as "no record."
