Police ID Woman Involved in Reckless Chase Friday Afternoon

Florida woman facing multiple charges after crashing into cars on Saylor.

Elmhurst police have identified the woman arrested Friday for trying to escape police and crashing into several cars in a residential neighborhood. 

Rachael N. Laube, 26, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is facing multiple charges after the incident, which began at 4:30 p.m. when police were called to Inland Bank, 539 S. Spring for a report of deceptive practice in progress.

Police said Laube was in the bank drive-up lane attempting to cash a fraudulent check. When police arrived, she attempted to flee east on Montrose, then north on Saylor Avenue, hitting multiple parked cars. She was taken into custody at Prairie Path Lane and Saylor.

She was charged with two counts of identity theft, forgery, fleeing and attempting to elude police, driving without a valid license, leaving the scene of an accident and trespass to a motor vehicle. 

She was taken to DuPage County Jail, where she is being held on $7,500 bond.
