Drug Offenses
Police stopped a vehicle near York Road and North Avenue just after 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 28 when the drive admitted to possessing drugs, police said. Officers using a K-9 to search the vehicle discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and suspected hydrocodone pills. The pills were sent for testing, and the driver was released with no immediate charges.

Police were called to the area of Adele and Melrose around 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 29 on reports of several missing sewer grates. Police reported four locations where a portions of the grates were missing. The street department was notified. Police have no suspects.
A woman reported she left her Michael Kors sunglasses on her desk at work on Sept. 27 and they were missing when she returned on Sept. 30. The sunglasses and case were valued at $360. Police have no suspects.

A woman called police to report her purse missing on Sept. 30, although she was unsure whether it had been stolen or lost. She said she had it with her at the Kohl’s store on Route 83. Police said video footage shows the woman exiting the store and leaving her cart outside. Two women later take the cart, but do not appear to find anything already in it. The purse contained cash, credit cards, a drivers license and social security card.
On Sept. 26, a resident in the 400 block of Vallette reported a missing or lost Coach wallet containing an expired drivers license, passport, birth certificates, credit cards, check book and other items.
A resident of the 100 block of Elm reported someone opened a merchant account with a $10,000 balance on it that was sent to collections. The resident said he never opened the account or authorized anyone to do so. He was willing to pursue charges if the offender were located.
Stolen Vehicle
A 2008 Chevy Impala was reported missing from the sales lot at a car dealership in the 300 block of West Grand Avenue. The car was present during an August inventory, but was not there on Sept. 28.
DUI
Antonio Vargas, 23, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, no turn signal, no drivers license and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic stop at Route 83 and Riverside around 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 28. He was released after posting cash bond.
Lucio Cifuentes, 29, of Bensenville, was charged with driving under the influence, no drivers license, no insurance, improper lane usage, disobeying a red light and endangering the life of a child after a traffic stop at North Avenue and Villa around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 30. Police stopped Cifuentes’ Honda Civic after he ran a red light, police said. He was released after posting $300 bond.
Warrant Arrest
Tomasz Chlebowicz, 20, of Naperville, was arrested Sept. 29 at Kenilworth and St. Charles Road around 11:25 a.m. after police investigating a traffic accident learned he was wanted on warrants out of Villa Park and Will County. Chlebowicz was cited for failure to yield in the crash and was then taken into custody by Villa Park police.
