Police Blotter: Construction Violation and Missing Sewer Grates

Reports from the Elmhurst Police Department.

Construction Violation

Police were called to the 100 block of Arthur just after 6 a.m. on Aug. 1 on a report of a violation of construction hours. Police arrived to find five employees working on a roof. A citation was issued and the crew was told to stop working until 7 a.m.

Police responded to a report on July 31 of a roadway obstruction in the 400 block of Ida to find several metal grates were missing along the road. Police also noticed missing grates on Emery Lane and on North Evergreen. Each grate was valued at $120. On Aug. 1, around 3:30 p.m., police were called to the 700 block of South Mitchell after another sewer grate was determined to be missing.

Sometime between July 13 and July 31, a semitruck valued at $26,000 was removed from a business parking lot in the 700 block of North Industrial Drive. Police have no suspects.
