UPDATE: Police Ask for Help in Finding Missing Elmhurst Couple

Vernon and Elaine Schweisthal had been missing since Friday.

UPDATE 11:15 a.m. Sunday: We are working to confirm with Elmhurst police, but according to the Facebook page set up to help find Vernon and Elaine Schweisthal, they have been found and have been admitted at a hospital in Princeton. We will update with more information as soon as it becomes available.

Elmhurst Police are attempting to locate two senior residents of Elmhurst who have been reported missing.

Vernon and Elaine Schweisthal were last seen on the 600 block of South York Street in Elmhurst at about 10 a.m. Friday July 19.

Vernon Schweisthal is 89 years old, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.  He has gray hair and blue eyes.  Vernon has one glass eye.

Elaine Schweisthal is 85 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.  She has reddish0colored hair and blue eyes.  Elaine suffers from dementia.

The Schweisthals are believed to have left their Elmhurst home en route to Mount Prospect to meet friends for lunch on Friday. They never arrived.

The Schweisthals are believed to be driving a gray, 2001 Toyota Camry with Illinois license plates KYY 986.
