Police Arrest Eleven More Drivers for DUI as Enhanced Enforcement Period Ends

More officers have been on the streets for the past two weeks looking for impaired drivers.

Additional Elmhurst police officers have been on the streets looking for impaired drivers, thanks to a year-long grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. 

The grant period was Aug. 16 through the Labor Day holiday. The additional officers were on the streets during the overnight hours, which are the most dangerous times on Illinois roadways, according to IDOT. The following arrests were made during the final days of the enforcement period:

Francisco Lopez-Martinez, 35, 4124 W. 56th Place, Second Floor, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license after police responded to a report of a man slumped behind the wheel of his tan Nissan Maxima at North Avenue and Route 83 at 7:07 a.m. Aug. 26. He was released on bond.

Eva Kriaras, 31, 516 Andy Drive, Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her white Mitsubishi Galant for improper lane use and speeding at Lake and Interstate 294 at 2:52 a.m. Aug. 29. She was released on bond.

Raymond Frencher, 61, 7636 W. 26th St., North Riverside, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his blue Chrysler Pacifica for improper lane use and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle at Lake and York at 12:05 a.m. Aug. 30. He was released on bond.

Natalie Jones, 33, 2011 S. Ash St., Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her silver Jeep Liberty for improper lane use at North and York at 12:19 a.m. Aug. 30. She was released on bond.

Brooke Mucha, 23, 14538 Creek Crossing, Orland Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her gray Toyota Camry for disobeying a traffic control device at North and West at 3:01 a.m. Aug. 31. She was released on bond.

Chris C. Wessels, 61, 301 S. Villa Ave., Villa Park, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his black Volkswagon Phaeton for improper lane use at St. Charles and Fair at 4:47 a.m. Aug. 31. He was released on bond.

Christina T. Scoleri, 43, 6569 DaVane Lane, Downers Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her white Cadillac Escalade for improper lane use and speeding at Route 83 and North Avenue at 4:55 a.m. Aug. 31. She was released on bond.

David Toney, 59, 1821 S. 19th, Maywood, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his blue Dodge Interpid for improper lane use at North and Clinton at 12:19 a.m. Sept. 1. He was released on bond.

Cesar Berymen, 36, 1022 S. Ellsworth, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his silver Toyota Corolla for improper lane use at North and Route 83 at 1:05 a.m. Sept. 2. He was released on bond.

John Pate, 38, 4511 Clayton, Hillside, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his Nissan Altima for speeding at St. Charles and Interstate 290 at 2:02 a.m. Sept. 2. He was released on bond.

Elmer Vegar, 31, 5320 W. 22nd Place, Cicero, was arrested and charged with DUI after police said they located him asleep behind the wheel of his gray Mazda 3 at York and Madison at 4:38 a.m. Sept. 2. He also was charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol, improper parking on a roadway and no drivers license on person. He was released on bond.
