Out of the Fireplace & Into the DuPage County Jail
A wanted man was pinched when his stepson confused him with a prowler and called the cops, police said.
An Elmhurst man was just trying to clean his fireplace when his confused stepson called the cops and got him arrested on a Lake County warrant, police said.
Glenn Gregg, 53, was wanted on a charge of driving under the influence and carted off to the DuPage County jail.
The cops were sent to Gregg's home about 8 a.m. Sunday to thwart a supposed burglary.
"Upon arrival, it was learned that the call was unfounded as the son heard his stepfather cleaning the fireplace and mistakenly thought he was an intruder," police said.
The police checked the identification for both Gregg and his stepson and discovered Gregg was wanted in Lake County.
