UPDATE: Coroner Releases Name of Person Killed in Oak Brook Crash
The crash remains under investigation.

The DuPage County Coroner’s office has released the name of the man killed Sunday morning in a car crash in Oak Brook. He is Thomas Fitzsimons, 48, of Hinsdale. The cause of death has not been released.

A man in his 40s was pronounced dead after a one-car crash in the area of Spring Road and Salt Creek Circle in Oak Brook at 12:04 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, according to a press release from the Oak Brook Police Department.

The man, who is from Hinsdale, was a passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was taken to an area hospital.
The Felony Investigative Assistive Team conducted the crash reconstruction and investigation, according to the press release. The crash remains under investigation.
