O'Hare Blue Line Station Could Open This Weekend

The CTA hopes to have the Blue Line station at O'Hare Airport open by this weekend, reports CBS Chicago.
Blowtorch crews are cutting apart the lead car of the train that jumped the tracks in the wee hours of Monday, slamming into an escalator and injuring more than 30 people riders. The woman at the train's controls has admitted she fell asleep.
The train was speeding faster than 25 mph, according to the National Transportation and Safety Board investigators, so even though the "trip switches" designed to stop a speeding train did automatically apply brakes, the train was still going too fast.

The switches will move further up the tracks. The CTA will lower the speed limit for trains entering the station from 25 mph to 15 mph. The CTA has been running buses between the Rosemont stop on the Blue Line and O’Hare to get passengers to and from the airport.
