Man Tells Judge he Was Enacting 'Alaska-Style Justice' to Protect his Aunt from Swindler

Tim Kristy explains why he attacked a Hillside man last January; judge shows leniency.

An Alaska man, who was arrested in January after he sprayed a man with pepper spray, hit him in the head with a flashlight and handcuffed him in downtown Elmhurst, was sentenced to one year probation, according to The Chicago Tribune. He faced up to a year in jail.

According to the Tribune, Tim Kristy, 48, of Wasilla, had no criminal record. Kristy told a DuPage County judge Thursday that he came to Elmhurst from Alaska to protect his 71-year-old aunt from David Little, 46. Kristy said he believed Little was exploiting her.
