UPDATE: Man Pulled from the Pool at Royal York Subdivision

The victim reportedly in intensive care unit at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Sunday night.

UPDATED 6:45 p.m. Sunday: Police Chief Michael Ruth said the man pulled from the pool at the Royal York condominiums is 61 years old and a resident of Addison.

As of 6:45 p.m., the man had been moved from the emergency room into the intensive care unit at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown. Ruth said the victim's father lives at Royal York.

A man was pulled from the pool at Royal York Condominiums, 110 W. Butterfield Road, at about 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth has confirmed.

Police responded to a call for a "possible drowning," Ruth said. When they arrived, paramedics were administering aid to the man pulled from the water. It is unclear how deep the water in the pool is.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, where his condition is unknown, Ruth said.

The incident is remains under investigation by Elmhurst police.
