Man with Police Light Reportedly had Gun on His Belt

Jose Miranda, 42, 863 S. York St., was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon after he was pulled over for having a red, oscillating light in the rear of his vehicle at 3:50 p.m. July 21 at Butterfield and High Street. He was found to have a handgun on his belt. He also was charged with being in possession of an oscillating light. He was released on I-bond.

Someone broke the window on the back door of a home on the 500 block of Cedar Street at 7:42 p.m. July 20 and unlocked the door from the inside. Stolen was a laptop computer, iPod and various jewelry.

Several items were reported stolen from a home on the 300 block of May Street between Jan. 14 and June 14. The victim said she is missing a 14-karat gold wedding band valued at $2,000, a gold bracelet worth $200, gold necklace with matching earrings worth $6,000, a pear-shaped cubic zirconia engagement ring worth $200 and a pair of gold earrings worth $6,000. There was no forced entry to the home.
