Man Arrested on Assault Warrant, Pedestrian Hit by Car, Rock Falls From Bridge
Warrant Arrest
Yvette Brooks, 35, 1973 Charles Lane, Aurora, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without insurance after police pulled over her white Lexus E300 at North Avenue and Route 83 at 6:08 p.m. Sept. 24. Police said she was in possession of a crack pipe. She was released on bond. A passenger in the car, Marcus Butler, 40, 1S371 Vista Ave., Lombard, gave police a false name. It was discovered he had a warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge. He was charged with obstructing identification, failure to wear a seat belt, and taken to DuPage County Jail on the warrant.

A vehicle driven by Marcia J. Novak, 69, of 325 Alder Lane Apt. 309, Glen Ellyn, reportedly struck an Elmhurst resident who was walking at West and Fellows at 4:46 p.m. Oct. 1. Novak was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, and the pedestrian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Rock Falls, Smashes Windshield
An Elmhurst woman reported that a large rock, about 6 inches in diameter, fell from the York Road overpass over Roosevelt Road and shattered her windshield at 11:53 a.m. Oct. 3. Police said several pieces of concrete were missing from the bridge.
