Man Arrested at Fischer School for Yelling, 'Making Reference to School Shootings'

Bensenville man facing state charges.

An incident at Conrad Fischer Elementary School, 888 Wilson St., led to an arrest and a note home to parents from Fischer Principal Jane Bailey last week.

Dimas Carmona, 45, 1067 S. Addison St., Bensenville, was arrested and now faces state charges of disorderly conduct. Carmona was taken into custody at 12:11 p.m. Friday, March 8, after police said he was yelling at school staff members, using profanity and making references to school shootings around the country.

A letter sent to parents Friday afternoon stated that "a disgruntled parent" was on the sidewalk adjacent to the playground, videotaping children at recess.

"He was asked not to videotape, and he did discontinue," the letter states. "He was asked to leave school grounds, but refused to do so.

"There was constant supervision of the situation, and at no time was any child at risk," the letter said. "... safety of Fischer students is our number one priority. No one is permitted to visit the classrooms or observe in the lunchroom or on the playground without the consent of the principal."

Police said Carmona left the area on foot. He was located at his residence and taken into custody. He was released on bond.
