Late Night Traffic Stop Nets Heroin, Stolen Gift Cards
Also, arrests made for probation violation and possession of cannabis, and intoxicated man refuses to leave Goodwill Store
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Police stopped a black Chevrolet Cruze at North Avenue and Route 83 for failure to signal and found a clear, plastic bag containing suspect heroin under the front passenger seat floor mat at 12:26 a.m. Oct. 23. A person in the vehicle also was wanted for failure to appear out of Chicago. Police also found numerous credit cards and Starbuck's gift cards that appeared to have been stolen, according to the report. The driver and passenger were taken to the police station, the vehicle towed for evidence and charges are pending further investigation, police said.
Brandon M. Petrovic, 18, 404 E. Church St., Elmhurst, was arrested after police went to his home for a warrant service for probation violation at 3:40 p.m. Oct. 24. Police said Petrovic was found at the home with Codeine pills and cannabis in his pocket. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Possession of Cannabis
Brad Reichman, 39, 674 Morningside Court, Roselle, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a suspicious silver Saturn in the parking lot at Extended Stay America, 550 W. Grand Ave., at 9:43 p.m. Oct. 22. He was released on bond.

Warrant Arrests
Maurice H. Lafine, 21, 9402 S. 51st Ave., Oak Lawn, turned himself in to Elmhurst police on a warrant for harassment through electonic means at 5:57 p.m. Oct. 24, police said. He was released on bond.
Disorderly Conduct
Anthony J. Highes Jr., 55, 407 S. 23rd Ave., Bellwood, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of open alcohol after police were called to the Goodwill store, 675 W. North Ave., for a subject refusing to leave at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 24. Police said Highes was "highly intoxicated" and in possession of a half-empty bottle of vodka. He was released on bond.
