Judge Denies Former Illinois Doctor's Attempt to Have his Conviction in a Sexual Abuse Case Sealed

Tribune is reporting that his victim, an Elmhurst resident, said she feels "vindicated."

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a judge has denied a doctor’s request to seal his 2005 conviction for fondling a patient. The doctor is trying to build a medical practice in Florida.

The patient, Elmhurst resident Kate Byrnside, said she felt “vindicated” by the judge’s ruling.

The doctor, Angelo Consiglio, formerly of Carol Stream, pleaded guilty in 2005 to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to one year probation. He disclosed in treatment for sex addiction that he had at least three other sexual encounters with patients. His license was reinstated in 2006.
