House Egged, Windows Broken, Graffiti Found on Salt Creek Trail

Elmhurst police report property damage.

Someone threw a small rock through a window on a detached garage on the 500 block of Byan Street between 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 26. Damage is estimated at $200. During their investigation, police discovered a rock also was thrown through the window of another home on the 500 block of South Bryan Street. The rock went through a screen, then broke the 2-foot-by-2-foot window.

Someone egged the front of a home on the 100 block of Clara Place at 10:48 p.m. Aug. 26.

Someone smashed the front windshield of a vehicle parked at McDonald's, 190 E. Butterfield Road, at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 29. While police were inspecting the vehicle, the owners arrived and said the windshield was not damaged when they parked it there. Damage is estimated at $1,300.

Someone broke a window on the northeast corner of a home on the 400 block of West Fremont between 5 p.m. Aug. 26 and 7 a.m. Aug. 27.

Someone spray-painted several areas of the Salt Creek Trail sometime between 4 p.m. Aug. 26 and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 31, an Elmhurst park ambassador reported. The wooden east wall of the bridge, and the east and west walls of the trail at St. Charles Road were defaced in multiple areas with "FSOD," "FS" and "Fiend Squad." Police have no suspects.
