Residential Burglary

A neighbor, who was in charge of checking on the house while the resident was away, went inside and noticed that a bedroom had been ransacked and a window was ajar. So far, only jars of coins are known to be missing.

Suspicious Vehicle

A witness told police he saw a suspicious vehicle parked on the entrance ramp of eastbound Interstate 290 from St. Charles Road at 10:25 a.m. Feb. 13. The witness said he saw a man standing outside the vehicle looking at the back yards of homes. He turned to get a license plate number of the black Pontiac Grand Am, and he noticed a woman in the driver seat. Police ran the license plate, which came back with only traffic tickets in Illinois, but they also found several arrests out of Georgia and Florida for theft and possession of burglary tools in the 1970s and 1990s.
