Burglary
Someone broke into a home on the 300 block of Huntington Lane between 9:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 14. The resident came home and discovered her door broken and several pieces of jewelry worth $2,100 missing from her bedroom.
Attempted Burglary
Someone broke the passenger window of a vehicle parked on the 800 block of North York Road between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 and 9 a.m. Feb. 12. Nothing appeared to be missing. Damage is estimated at $200.
Someone forced entry into a 2009 Honda Civic by breaking the passenger window while it was parked in a lot on the 800 block of North York Road between 9 p.m. Feb. 11 and 6 a.m. Feb. 12. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Someone smashed the front glass door at PGI Marketing, 747 N. Church Road #B4, between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11 and 2 p.m. Feb. 12. No entry was gained.
Theft
Jeremy M. Fay, 25, 485 N. Alexander, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with retail theft after an incident at Dominick’s, 215 S. Route 83, at 9:20 p.m. Feb. 13. Police saw Fay exit Dominick’s and remove something from his pants leg. He then walked towards West Avenue, where officers stopped him and noticed a bottle of Skol vodka in his front right pocket. He allegedly admitted to taking the vodka. He was released on I-bond.
Damage to a Motor Vehicle
Someone scratched both sides, the hood and rear bumper of a vehicle parked at the YMCA, 211 W. First St., between 9:30 and 11 p.m. Feb. 11. Damage is estimated at $2,000.
