Hit and Run Involves Alleged DUI Driver and More From the Elmhurst Police Blotter

Man arrested for shoplifting at Kohl's resists police and two men arrested for drugs.

DUI Arrests

Scott R. Lutter, 41, 110 E. George St. Apt. 121, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a hit-and-run at York and North at 7:51 p.m. Jan. 31. He reportedly fled northbound on York and was followed by the victim.

Victor H. Padilla-Delgado, 50, 390 McClure, Elgin, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his blue Chevrolet S-10 pickup for improper lane use and failure to signal at York and Lake streets at 3:19 a.m. Feb. 2. He was released on I-bond.

DUI-drugs

Rick E. Daciolas, 28, 2422 N. 77th Court, Elmwood Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs after police pulled over his black Buick Park Avenue  for improper lane use and failure to signal at North and West avenues at 2:17 a.m. Feb. 1. Police did not say what type of drug Daciolas allegedly was using. He was released on I-bond.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Santiago Andres, 47, 350 E. North Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after police were called on a report of a suspicious person staggering on the 200 block of Clinton at 2:43 a.m. Feb. 2. Police said they noticed a white, powdery residue on Andres' nostrils. He field-tested positive for cocaine. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Theft Arrest

Bruce Butcher, 57, 236 S. 21st St., Maywood, was arrested and charged with retail theft and resisting arrest at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 2. Butcher allegedly took $540 in merchandise, then ran from officers and struggled with them as he was being taken into custody. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Property Damage Arrest

Michael T. Harris, 45, 531 N. Van Auken, Elmhurst, was arrested after an incident Feb. 1. Police were sent to the 700 block of North Adele St. at 10:09 p.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim reportedly answered the door, and when she saw it was Harris, her ex-husband, she shut the door. Harris allegedly then broke out the window on the door. He left the scene before police arrived. He was later located at his residence and arrested.

Warrant Arrest

Delia D. Williams-Broast, 51, 118 Virginia, Elmhurst, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear after police pulled over her white Hyundai for improper lane use at York and Columbia at 7:02 a.m. Jan. 30. She also was cited for driving without insurance. She was released on bond.
