Heroin Found in Vehicle Traveling in Elmhurst, Police Say

Police also report paint thinner found in backpack of man they say was huffing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Daniel F. Eppolito, 41, 433 Perrie Drive, Elk Grove Village, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin after police pulled over his silver Nissan Sentra for failure to signal at westbound Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 5:55 p.m. Dec. 19 He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Public Intoxication

John C. Grobe, 31, 264 N. Maple, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct/public intoxication after police were called to the 100 block of Norh Maple for a suspicious person at 12:54 a.m. Dec. 21. He was released on bond.

Warrant Arrests

Krasandra Polhans, 19, 120 E. Main, Cuba, Ill., was arrested on a warrant out of Fulton County for failure to appear after she was pulled over at St. Charles and Monterey at 12:07 a.m. Dec. 16. She was released on bond. She also was charged with driving without insurance.

Alejandro Fuentes-Gutierre, 32, 30 Gale, Northlake, was arrested on a warrant out of McHenry County for failure to appear after police found him riding his bicycle at Interstate 290 and North Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Dec. 18. Police said they found paint thinner in his book bag that he allegedly had been huffing, and he was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for evaluation. He later was taken to DuPage County Jail on the warrant.

Suspicious Circumstances

A teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School, while checking the school's Facebook page, noticed a new person posting had no photo and their only "likes" were other primary schools. Due to heightened concerns about school safety, a report was filed and forwarded to investigators.
