Hair Cuttery Robbed, Citizens Harassed and Construction Hours Violated

Recent items from the Elmhurst police reports.

Commercial Burglary

Someone smashed out the front door of Hair Cuttery, 185 S. Route 83, between 9:35 p.m. Aug. 30 and 7 a.m. Aug. 31 and stole a blue bank bag that contained $350.

Victor Hugo Lopez, 21, 121 Bridget Court Apt. 2A, Bensenville, was arrested and charged under state charges with driving without a license, suspended registration, obstructing identification, and two counts of attempted unlawful possession of a fictitious ID. Police stopped Lopez's white Dodge Caravan for suspended registration at North Avenue and Route 83 at 5:18 a.m. Aug. 31. He provided the officer with a false date of birth, police said. A search turned up a fictitious U.S. permanent resident card and a fictitious Social Security card. He was released on bond.

Warrant Arrest

Taquita L. Evans, 23, 1101 McDonald Ave., Aurora, was arrested after police pulled over the black GMC Yukon she was riding in for speeding at 1:38 a.m. Aug. 31 at North Avenue and Melrose. Evans was found to have a failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County. The driver, Norma J. Crowder, 22, of the same address, was charged with driving without a license. They were released on bond.

Harassment

A supervisor at Fitzpatrick Company, 832 Industrial Drive, told police that a male co-worker was terminated and escorted out of the building at 2:48 p.m. Aug. 12. About an hour later, the victim received a threatening text message from the man. He was advised to have no further contact with the victim.

A resident on the 600 block of West Gladys has been receiving multiple calls from someone offering to lower her credit card interest rate if she would give him her credit card numbers. The woman reported the incidents at 5 p.m. Aug. 17.

A woman told police at 11:09 a.m. Aug. 27 that a man had threatened her because his car had been towed for not having a parking sticker on the 100 block of Fellows Court. The suspect denied making any threats but have agreed not to contact the woman again.

Violating Construction Hours

Francisco J. Esparza, 42, 2170 Poplar Ave., Hanover Park, was cited for violating construction hours at 6:46 a.m. Aug. 29 at Scott Street and St. Charles Road. He was released on I-bond at the scene.
