Gary Woman Arrested for Attempting to Use Fake Credit Card, ID at Buffalo Wild Wings

Two women also charged in separated instances of theft from Kohl's, and phones, cash, golf clubs and a whole lot more stolen.

Counterfeit Credit Card 

Mary Parnell-Wilson, 55, 3927 Lincoln St., Gary, Ind., was arrested and charged with felony use of a counterfeit credit card, possession of a fraudulent credit card and possession of a fake drivers license after she allegedly tried to use a fraudulent card at Buffalo Wild Wings, 149 N. York, at 1:19 p.m. June 1. Police said she was in possession of two counterfeit Discover cards and a fraudulent Ohio drivers license. She was taken to DuPage County Jail. 

Retail Theft Arrests 

Sandra Amado-Martinez, 28, 187 S. Villa Ave. Apt. 4, Addison, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she allegedly took three pairs of children's shoes from Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, at 2:10 p.m. May 25. She was released on bond. 

Rosa Pinela, 55, 715 Mavis Lane, Addison, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she was seen placing a gold watch worth $17.99 into her purse at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, at 4:32 p.m. May 30. She was released on bond and issued a no-trespass order. 

Theft 

Someone broke the rear passenger window of a vehicle parked on the 600 block of West North Avenue and stole a purse, iPad and jewelry. The report was filed at 4:55 a.m. May 24. 

Two Samsung iPhones worth $630 each were taken from AT&T, 291 N. York, at 3:10 p.m. May 24. The offender was detained by employees outside the store for a short time, but he was able to get free and was last seen headed eastbound on Columbia.  

A man who had previously stolen items from Kmart, 265 S. Route 83, returned to the store at 5 p.m. May 25 and attempted to steal televisions. The suspect left the merchandise at the front of the store after making eye contact with an employee. 

Someone stole car keys and keys to a church on the 700 block of South York Road at 7:15 a.m. May 26. The victim went to his vehicle and found his drivers side door wide open. Missing was $500, lottery tickets and a coin dispenser. The victim spoke to the suspect, but when police arrived, the suspect could not be located. 

Someone punched the front driver side lock and stripped the steering column of a vehicle parked on the 300 block of West Avenue between 5 p.m. May 24 and 8:45 a.m. May 25. Nothing appeared to be missing. 

Someone stole the spare tire off of a red Toyota Tundra parked on the 500 block of West Grand between 11 p.m. May 26 and 12:45 p.m. May 27. 

A black Nike golf bag worth $100, 14 Titleist golf clubs worth $1,900, $25 in coins and two golf-style umbrellas worth $20 were taken from a truck between 11 p.m. May 26 and 5 a.m. May 27. Police did not release the location of the theft. 

A locked 26-inch Schwinn mountain bike was taken from a bike rack on the 100 block of West First Street between noon and 3 p.m. May 27. 

An unlocked Diamondback GrindPro 20-inch BMX bicycle was taken from the front porch of a home on the 100 block of Fairlane between 9 p.m. May 27 and 7 a.m. May 28.  

A bicycle was stolen from outside Buffalo Wild Wings, 151 N. York Road, between 5:40 and 6:20 p.m. May 28. 

A woman received $466 in cash from Chase at Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 10:20 a.m. May 28. She placed $460 of it in a bank envelope and put it in her purse. When she got home, the $460 was gone. Chase and Dominick's personnel were interviewed and police will review security footage. 

An Xbox game system was taken from a home on the 200 block of Glenview between noon May 29 and 4:30 a.m. May 30. The victim's daughter had three people over at the house who are suspects, police said. 

A Lenovo laptop computer worth $1,000 was taken from Skowron Eye Care, 370 N. York, at around 12:30 p.m. May 30. A witness said a man with short black hair, about 6 feet tall, 300 pounds, who was missing his bottom teeth, was soliciting for window washing services in the business. He then requested to make a doctor appointment. The witness said he then walked into the area where the laptop was and quickly left the business. No one saw him walk out with the laptop, but they said his behavior was suspicious. 

A male juvenile asked to use the phone of a person at Pioneer Park, Mitchell and Prairie Path Lane, then took the phone and ran away with it at 6:42 p.m. May 30. A witness chased the offender down and got the phone back, and police took him into custody. He was released to his mother pending juvenile charges. 

A locked black Schwinn Caliente worth $200 was taken from a bike rack near the train station between 4:45 p.m. May 23 and 5:34 p.m. May 28. 

A Delco aluminum toolbox worth $250 with Bass Pro Shop stickers on it was taken from outside a home on the 800 block of North Van Auken between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 30. It contained two folding canvas chairs worth $40 and a set of jumper cables worth $75.
