Everything From a Duck Call to a Semi Has Been Stolen in Recent Days

And three vehicles, stolen in Streamwood, Bensenville and Roselle, turn up in Elmhurst.

Theft

An unknown man took several bottles of liquor from Jewel, 944 S. York Road, and left the store without paying at 1:20 a.m. Nov. 3. He got into a gold, four-door vehicle.

A white female, about 35 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 130 pounds with long, curly blonde hair reportedly stole $183.41 worth of infant formula from Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 11:35 a.m. Nov. 1. Surveillance video showed the woman dressed in a black winter coat with a furry collar, black pants, black slip-on shoes and pushing a green baby stroller.

A locked, red Raleigh 10-speed man's bike was stolen from the bicycle rack at Park Avenue, east of York Road, between 7:50 a.m. Oct. 31 and 9:50 p.m. Nov. 1. Loss is estimated at $100.

A spare tire was stolen from a vehicle parked at 300 W. Grand Ave. between 6:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Oct. 30. Loss is estimated at $500.

Three containers of prescription drugs, cologne and $40 were taken from a vehicle parked on the 700 block of North Emroy between 6 p.m. Oct. 28 and 2:45 p.m. Oct. 29. Damage to the car door lock is $50.

Someone took $50 and a debit card from a wallet that was in an unlocked car sometime between 11 p.m. Oct. 27 and 3 p.m. Oct. 28. Police did not released the location.

A radar detector, GPS, multi charger, phone charger and non-narcotic medication worth a total of about $345 were stolen from a vehicle that was unlocked with keys in the ignition between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 on the 500 block of North Emroy. 

Someone took a $50 duck call and $20 in change from a GMC, and an iPod radio transmitter worth $60 from a Ford, parked on the 700 block of Indiana between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 8 a.m. Oct. 28. 

A purple Scion XB was stolen from the 600 block of North Van Auken at 6:19 a.m. Oct. 28, after the owner left it running in a driveway while he was picking up his dog. The vehicle was later located by police near North End and Van Auken. Nothing appeared to be missing.

A Bosch air nail gun worth $300 was taken from a vehicle parked on a driveway between 11:15 p.m. Oct. 27 and 4:45 a.m. Oct. 28.

$1,900 was taken from a desk drawer of a home on the 1000 block of South Euclid between Oct. 23 and 8 a.m. Oct. 28.

A tan Chevy or GMC conversion van pulled into the parking lot at Early Times Home Solutions, 960 Industrial Drive, hooked up to a trailer and left the lot at 8:21 p.m. Oct. 27. The vehicle fled south and out of camera view. The trailer contained a gutter machine worth $8,000, a Honda generator worth $2,000, a 300-pound roll of aluminum worth $400 and miscellaneous other tools and supplies.

About $190 worth of powder Enfamil baby formula was taken from Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 4:57 p.m. Oct. 24. Police on patrol saw a man walking through the parking lot with a plastic hand basket from Dominick's. When the officer approached him, he fled toward Elmhurst Terrace Apartments. The subject was not located. A second suspect also is being sought.

A parking permit was taken from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of West First Street between noon and 4 p.m. Oct. 20. Loss is $105.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered

A red Volvo semi-tractor combination and a white Great Dane semi trailer stolen out of Streamwood turned up on the 200 block of West Spangler at 8:56 p.m. Oct. 26 after police received a parking complaint call.

A black 1998 Toyota Corolla was discovered parked at Elmhurst BMW, 466 W. Lake St., at 8:12 a.m. Oct. 30. Police discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Bensenville.

Police were called to the 400 block of East Niagara on a report of a suspicious, unoccupied vehicle at 5:36 a.m. Nov. 1. Police discovered the vehicle had been stolen out of Roselle.
